COMPLETE AUTHENTIC TAROT CARDS – THE FOOL BY A. E. WAITE & PAMELA C. SMITH

Completefront

$90

This is the first incarnation of the Rider images (1909) commercially printed in color since Rider stopped making decks in 1939. Put together by University Books in New York, these cards originally came in a red slipcase, and later in a cardboard “tuck box” (a normal playing card box that opens at either end) as seen in the photos. The colors are vibrant, and in later editions the printing registration gets worse. These launched the tarot revival. The next decks to appear were Merrimack, B. Shackman, Frankie Albano (Tarot Productions), and later US Games Systems. The cards are truly a piece of modern tarot history. They have pink and white backs with a maroon rectangle in the center emblazoned with a white ankh.
